Welcome to Scrapskins.com (the "Site"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site and its services. Please read them carefully.

By accessing, browsing, or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Site.

1. Introduction

Scrapskins.com is an independent online platform for users of the video game "Rust," developed by Facepunch Studios. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Facepunch Studios Ltd. or its affiliates ("Facepunch").

The Site provides a platform that allows users who own in-game cosmetic items ("Skins" or "Virtual Items") for Rust to trade them with via automated bots.

2. Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

• Be a natural person at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher).
• Have a valid and active Steam account.
• Not be a resident of, or located in, any jurisdiction where our services are prohibited.
• Not be listed on any sanctions list or be subject to any trade embargo.
• Use the service only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
• Provide accurate age information. We reserve the right to request age verification and may suspend accounts that provide false information.
• Not have a history of chargebacks, payment fraud, or terms violations on other trading platforms.

If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your place of residence), you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Service Description & Scrap Currency

Scrapskins.com facilitates the trade of Rust Skins between users via Steam's trading system, mediated by automated bots.

3.1. Trading Mechanics:

• You can trade one or more Skins for other Skins available in our bot inventories.
• Each Skin listed has a value denominated in our internal platform currency, called "Scrap."
• If the total Scrap value of the Skins you offer is higher than the Skins you receive, the difference is credited to your Site account as Scrap balance ("Scrap Balance").
• If the total Scrap value of the Skins you want is higher than the Skins you offer, the difference must be covered by your existing Scrap Balance.
• All trades are final, irrevocable, and not subject to refund, reversal, or cancellation.

3.2. Nature of Scrap:

• Scrap is not real money. It is a virtual unit of account used solely on the Scrapskins.com platform to facilitate trades.
• Scrap has no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash, cryptocurrency, or any real-world currency or item.
• Scrap is not a substitute for legal tender. It cannot be purchased with real money, gifted, or transferred outside the Site.
• Scrap is non-transferable between users and does not accrue interest.
• Your Scrap Balance exists only as a record on our platform and represents a limited license to use our internal trading service.
• Scrap balances may be adjusted by us at any time to correct errors, bugs, exploits, or system malfunctions. We will notify you of any significant adjustments.
• Negative Scrap balances are not permitted. Any trade that would result in a negative balance will be automatically rejected.
• We reserve the right to impose minimum or maximum Scrap balance limits at our discretion.
• Unused Scrap balances do not expire, but may be forfeited upon account termination.

4. Your Account

• You must sign in through your Steam account to use the Site. By doing so, you authorize us to access certain public Steam account data (e.g., public profile, inventory) necessary to provide the service.
• You are solely responsible for securing your Steam account and all activities conducted through your linked ScrapSkins.com account.
• You may not have more than one active account. Any attempt to create multiple accounts may result in termination.

5. Security Requirements

To use our trading services, you must meet these security requirements:

• You must have Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled for at least 7 days
• You must not have any trade holds, restrictions, or VAC bans on your Steam account
• Your Steam account must be in good standing with no pending disputes or chargebacks
• You are responsible for securing your trade link and must not share it publicly or with untrusted parties

Security Best Practices:

• Never share your Steam password, or trade confirmation codes with anyone
• We will never ask for your Steam password, or trade link via email, chat, or Discord
• Enable Steam email notifications for all trade confirmations
• Regularly review your trade history and account activity
• Report suspicious activity immediately to scrapskins@gmail.com

Failure to maintain these security requirements may result in trade failures, account suspension, or permanent termination.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose or to trade Skins obtained illegally.
• Engage in fraud, market manipulation, or abuse of the platform.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other unauthorized methods to interact with the Site.
• Attempt to circumvent any security or trade verification measures.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Use any Skin or account involved in a dispute or chargeback on another platform.
• Infringe upon any intellectual property rights.
• Create, use, or maintain multiple accounts to circumvent trade limitations, manipulate pricing, or gain unfair advantages
• Attempt to exploit, reverse engineer, or abuse bugs, glitches, vulnerabilities, or errors in the service
• Use VPNs, proxies, or other tools to circumvent geographic restrictions, bans, or rate limits
• Engage in "sharking," price manipulation, or intentionally misleading other users about item values
• Use our platform to launder items, facilitate real-money transactions (RMT), or trade items obtained through fraud
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, or other users' accounts
• Scrape, data mine, or extract data from our platform using automated tools without permission

7. User Conduct & Community Standards

While using the Service, you agree to maintain respectful and appropriate conduct:

7.1. Positive Conduct

• Treat other users, staff, moderators, and support representatives with respect and courtesy
• Report suspicious activity, scams, bugs, or Terms violations to our support team
• Help maintain a welcoming and safe community environment
• Provide constructive feedback about the service

7.2. Prohibited Conduct

• Using offensive, abusive, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory language
• Spamming, advertising, or soliciting users for external services or platforms
• Impersonating staff, moderators, bots, or other users
• Sharing or promoting scam links, phishing attempts, or malicious content
• Coordinating with other users to manipulate prices or exploit the platform

Violations of community standards may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on severity.

8. Risk Acknowledgement & Disclaimer of Warranty

You understand and accept the following risks:

• Virtual Item Nature: Skins are licensed digital items with no inherent real-world value. Their value is subjective and can fluctuate rapidly.
• Platform Dependency: The service depends on Steam and Facepunch's systems. Changes to their APIs, policies, or the game itself may disrupt or terminate our service.
• No Guarantee of Availability: We do not guarantee the availability of specific Skins or that your Scrap Balance can always be used for a desired trade.
• "AS IS" Service: THE SITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We are not liable for any losses you may incur from trading Skins, fluctuations in perceived Skin values, or disruptions to the service caused by third parties (e.g., Steam, Facepunch, internet outages).

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCRAPSKINS.COM, ITS OWNERS, AND OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT OR TRADES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF SCRAP IN YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT (WITH SCRAP VALUED AT ZERO MONETARY VALUE).

10. Support & Dispute Resolution

10.1. Reporting Issues

If you experience issues with our service, contact us at scrapskins@gmail.com with:

• Your Steam ID or account username
• Detailed description of the issue
• Trade ID or timestamp (if applicable)
• Screenshots or relevant evidence

10.2. Types of Disputes

• Incorrect Pricing: Report pricing errors with evidence. We will review and correct if verified, but will not retroactively adjust completed trades.
• Failed Trades: If a trade fails due to our system error, we will attempt to restore your items or Scrap balance. No compensation for missed opportunities or market changes.
• Account Issues: For suspension or termination appeals, provide relevant context. We reserve final discretion on all account actions.

10.3. Response Times

• Initial response: Within 48 hours (business days)
• Account appeals: Within 5 business days
• General inquiries: Within 10 business days

Response times are estimates and may be longer during high-volume periods.

10.4. What We Cannot Do

We cannot and will not:

• Reverse or cancel trades that were completed correctly according to our system
• Compensate for user errors, misclicks, or misunderstandings
• Provide refunds or compensation for market value changes
• Restore items lost to Steam trade scams outside our platform
• Override Steam's trade system, holds, or restrictions

11. Service Availability

While we strive to maintain 24/7 service availability, the Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance and system updates
• Emergency security patches or bug fixes
• Technical issues, server problems, or infrastructure failures
• Steam platform outages or API unavailability
• DDoS attacks or other security incidents

11.1. Maintenance

• We will provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance when possible
• Emergency maintenance may be performed without notice when necessary for security or stability
• During maintenance, trading services may be unavailable but your account data remains safe

11.2. No Compensation

We do not provide refunds, compensation, or credit for:

• Service interruptions, downtime, or maintenance periods
• Lost opportunities due to unavailability
• Market changes that occur during service outages
• Issues caused by third-party services (Steam, ISPs, etc.)

12. Privacy & Data Collection

We collect and process certain data to provide our services. For detailed information about what data we collect, how we use it, and your privacy rights, please review our Privacy Policy.

By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

13. Intellectual Property

The Scrapskins.com name, logo, website design, and all content are our intellectual property. All Rust Skins, trademarks, and related content are the property of Facepunch Studios Ltd. or their respective owners. This Site is a fan-operated service and claims no ownership over Facepunch's intellectual property.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site immediately, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using our services at any time.

14.1. Pending Trades Upon Termination

If you have pending trade offers at the time of account termination:

• Pending trade offers will be cancelled and reserved items returned to bot inventory
• Completed trades (already accepted by both parties) cannot be reversed
• Your Scrap balance will be forfeited and cannot be converted to items after termination

14.2. Appeal Process

If you believe your account was terminated in error, you may appeal by emailing scrapskins@gmail.com within 14 days of termination with:

• Your Steam ID and account details
• Explanation of why you believe the termination was unjustified
• Any relevant evidence or context

We will review appeals on a case-by-case basis but reserve the right to make final decisions on all account matters.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Scrapskins.com, its operators, affiliates, partners, and service providers from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and costs) arising from or related to:

• (a) Your use or misuse of the Service
• (b) Your violation of these Terms of Service
• (c) Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• (d) Any fraudulent, illegal, or malicious activity conducted through your account
• (e) Any claim that your conduct caused damage to a third party

This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of your account and these Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, invalid, or illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision.

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices or policies published by us on the Site, constitute the entire agreement between you and Scrapskins.com concerning your use of the Service. These Terms supersede any prior agreements, understandings, or representations, whether written or oral, regarding the subject matter herein.

18. Assignment

You may not assign, transfer, or delegate your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms at any time, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law, without your consent or prior notice.

19. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:

• We will post the updated Terms on the Site
• Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms
• If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request account closure

We will maintain an archive of previous Terms versions, which you can request by contacting support.

BY USING SCRAPSKINS.COM, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS, UNDERSTAND THEM, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT "SCRAP" IS AN INTERNAL PLATFORM CURRENCY WITH NO REAL-WORLD VALUE, AND THE SITE INVOLVES NO REAL-MONEY TRANSACTIONS.
